How quality is assured on site

Quality assurance runs on a small set of tools, each doing a specific job, catching the problem, standardising the check, and proving it happened.

Hold points

A defined stage where work stops until an inspection is passed, before it is covered up. Waterproofing checked before tiling, reinforcement checked before a pour, frame checked before lining. A hold point is the cheapest possible moment to catch a problem, because nothing has been built over it yet.

Inspection checklists

Quality records

The point where a trade confirms their work is complete and compliant before the next trade builds on it. A sign-off makes responsibility clear, if the waterproofing later fails, the record shows who signed it off and when, which is the difference between a warranty claim and an argument.

The work was inspected but nothing was recorded. When a defect surfaces in the warranty period, or a certifier or client asks for evidence, there is nothing to show, and the builder carries a cost or a doubt they inspected their way out of at the time but cannot prove.
